Overview
Namna is a privacy-first, offline financial independence planner for iPhone. We designed it so your plan data stays on your device. This policy explains what that means in practice.
Data Collection
Namna collects ZERO personal data.
- No email addresses
- No names
- No phone numbers
- No location data
- No device identifiers
- No usage analytics
- No advertising tracking
- No third-party analytics services
- No bank or brokerage connections
- No credit card or payment details (payment is handled entirely by Apple)
Data Storage
All plan data is stored locally on your device using on-device SQLite:
- Your age, take-home pay, monthly savings, retirement target, foundation items, and future scenarios are stored only on your iPhone
- Data stays on your device and is never transmitted to our servers
- We have no servers — there is nothing to transmit data to
iCloud Sync
Namna does not currently use iCloud sync.
If we add iCloud sync in a future version:
- Your data would sync between your own Apple devices via your personal iCloud account
- This would be handled entirely by Apple’s infrastructure
- We would have no access to your iCloud data
- You would be able to disable iCloud sync in Settings at any time
Backups and Exports
Namna lets you create backups and exports that you control:
- JSON backup — a text snapshot of your plan you can paste back into the app on another device
- Excel workbook export — a spreadsheet of your profile, foundation, and future scenarios
These exports are created only when you ask for them and are shared through the iOS share sheet to a destination you choose (Files, email, Messages, etc.). Namna does not upload them anywhere.
Notifications
Namna does not use push notifications and does not send marketing notifications.
Tip Jar and In-App Purchases
If Namna offers in-app purchases (such as a one-time unlock or a tip):
- Purchases are processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit
- We receive only aggregated sales data from Apple (no personal information)
- We never see your payment information, credit card numbers, or billing address
- Apple handles all payment processing securely
Data You Control
You have complete control over your data:
- Delete foundation items: Remove any savings or investment item from your plan at any time
- Clear your plan: “Clear local plan” in the More tab wipes all plan data from your device
- Delete the app: Uninstalling Namna permanently deletes all plan data
- Export first: Before clearing or deleting, you can export an Excel workbook or JSON backup to keep a copy
Third-Party Services
Namna uses zero third-party services:
- No analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Firebase, Mixpanel, Amplitude, Segment, etc.)
- No crash reporting services (Sentry, Bugsnag, Crashlytics)
- No advertising networks
- No social media integrations
Children’s Privacy
Namna does not collect data from anyone, including children under 13. The app is rated 4+ and suitable for all ages. Because no data leaves the device, there is no mechanism by which we could receive children’s data.
Changes to This Policy
If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will:
- Update the “Last Updated” date above
- Surface a notice in the app on the next launch
- Keep the previous version available on request
Data Security
While we don’t collect your data, we take local storage seriously:
- All data is stored using iOS on-device SQLite
- Your device’s built-in encryption protects your data at rest
- No network transmission means no interception risk
Your Rights
Under GDPR, the Philippines Data Privacy Act (RA 10173), CCPA, and similar privacy laws, you have rights regarding your data. Since we don’t collect your data:
- Right to access: All your data is visible in the app
- Right to deletion: Delete items, clear your plan, or uninstall the app
- Right to portability: Export an Excel workbook or JSON backup at any time
- Right to opt-out: Nothing to opt out of — we don’t collect data
Financial Disclaimer
Namna is a planning tool, not financial advice:
- All projections are estimates under the assumptions you set
- Amounts are shown in today’s pesos; inflation, withdrawal taxes, and market swings are not modeled
- Reference rates shown in the app are conservative planning proxies, not guaranteed returns
- Namna is not a substitute for consulting a licensed financial professional
