Ledvo mark

Ledvo is designed so your accounting book stays in your browser profile on your device. The product does not need a login, a hosted database, analytics tracking, or advertising identifiers.

Overview

Ledvo is a local-first browser accounting app. This policy explains what data the app handles, where it lives, and what we do not collect.

Data collection

Ledvo does not collect your accounting book.

The app does not require:

  • an account
  • a name
  • an email address
  • a phone number
  • a company identifier
  • a payment method
  • a bank connection
  • an analytics identity

The current app does not include advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, tracking pixels, or product-usage telemetry.

Where your book is stored

Ledvo stores your book locally in your browser using the Origin Private File System. That storage belongs to the browser profile, origin, and device you are using. Different browsers, browser profiles, and origins such as ledvo.app and www.ledvo.app do not share the same OPFS book.

The Heft WebAssembly engine is loaded as a web asset when you create, import, or open a book. OPFS stores the ledger file; it does not store the engine.

Your ledger data can include:

  • book name
  • base currency
  • chart of accounts
  • periods
  • journal entries
  • counterparties and subledger records
  • report inputs
  • audit records generated by the engine

That data stays in your browser storage unless you export it, clear it, or your browser removes it.

Persistent storage permission

Ledvo may ask your browser to keep site storage persistently. If you allow it, the browser is less likely to evict your local book under storage pressure.

If you block persistent storage, Ledvo can still run, but you should export backups regularly and review your browser’s site storage settings.

Exports and imports

Ledvo lets you export a JSON snapshot of your book. That file is created locally and saved or downloaded only when you ask for it.

Once exported, the file is under your control. If you email it, upload it, store it in cloud storage, or share it with someone else, that destination’s privacy and security rules apply.

Website visits

The Ledvo product pages are static pages on this website. The Ledvo app itself is hosted separately. Hosting providers may process standard request information needed to serve pages, such as IP address, user agent, request path, and time of request. Ledvo does not add analytics tracking on top of that.

Third-party services

The app does not connect to banks, brokers, tax agencies, payroll services, or cloud accounting platforms.

The deployed app may be served by infrastructure providers such as Vercel or GitHub Pages. Those providers operate the hosting layer, but Ledvo does not send your accounting book to a Ledvo backend.

Data you control

You can:

  • export your book
  • import a supported Ledvo JSON snapshot
  • clear the local book from Settings
  • clear browser site data
  • delete exported files wherever you saved them

Because there is no Ledvo account or central database, we cannot recover a deleted local book for you.

Security notes

Local-first storage reduces network exposure, but it does not remove every risk.

  • Anyone with access to your browser profile or device may be able to access the book.
  • Browser storage can be cleared by you, by browser settings, or by device cleanup tools.
  • Exported JSON files should be treated as sensitive accounting records.
  • Use device encryption, screen lock, and regular backups.

Children’s privacy

Ledvo is not directed to children. The app does not collect personal data from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date above will be updated. Material changes will be reflected on this page before we describe the app differently in product copy.
